Calls Going to Voicemail

If calls are hitting voicemail instead of Fixly, your forwarding needs adjustment.

The Problem

Calls should go:
Your Number → Fixly Number → Fixly Answers

But they're going:
Your Number → Your Voicemail

Common Causes

1. Forwarding Not Enabled

Your carrier forwarding may be off:
  • Dial *72 + your Fixly number to enable (most carriers)

  • Check carrier settings online
  • 2. Voicemail Picks Up Too Fast

Your voicemail may answer before forwarding kicks in:
  • Increase rings before voicemail (carrier setting)

  • Set to 4-5 rings before forwarding
  • 3. Conditional vs Unconditional

You may have wrong forwarding type:
  • Unconditional: All calls forward immediately

  • Conditional: Only forwards if you don't answer
  • For Fixly backup mode, use conditional forwarding.

    Carrier-Specific Fixes

    Verizon/AT&T

  • Dial *71 + Fixly number (conditional)

  • Or *72 + Fixly number (all calls)
  • T-Mobile

  • 61* + Fixly number# (no answer)

  • Adjust delay: 61* + Fixly numberdelay# (delay = 5-30 seconds)
  • Google Voice

  • Settings → Calls → Forwarding

  • Add Fixly number, set delay
  • Testing

  • Call your number from another phone

  • Don't answer

  • Count rings before voicemail

  • Should be 4+ rings, then Fixly answers
  • If Using "Fixly Answers All"

If you want Fixly to answer everything:

  • Forward all calls unconditionally

  • Your voicemail should never pick up

  • Fixly becomes your primary answering system
