Converting Quotes to Bookings

A quote request is just the first step. Here's how to turn it into a booked job.

The Conversion Process

1. Respond Quickly


Speed matters. Customers often request quotes from multiple businesses. Being first to respond dramatically increases your chances.

Ideal response time: Under 1 hour

2. Provide Clear Pricing


Be specific about costs:
  • Range if variable: "$150-200 depending on access"

  • Flat rate if possible: "$175 for standard drain cleaning"

  • Include what's covered: "Includes diagnostics and first hour of labor"
  • 3. Offer a Time Slot


    Make it easy to say yes:
    "I can come out Tuesday at 2pm or Wednesday morning. Which works better?"

    4. Confirm the Booking


    When they agree:
  • Open the quote in Fixly

  • Click Convert to Booking

  • Select the agreed time

  • The job appears in your calendar
  • Sample Response Template

    "Hi [Name], thanks for reaching out! [Service] typically runs $X-Y. I have availability [Day] at [Time] or [Day] at [Time]. Reply with your preference and address, and I'll get you on the schedule!"

    Following Up

    If they don't respond:

  • Wait 24 hours

  • Send one follow-up message

  • If no response after 48 hours, they've likely gone elsewhere
  • Tracking Conversion

    In the Quotes tab, you can see:

  • Pending — Awaiting response

  • Converted — Became a booking

  • Declined — Customer declined

  • No Response — No reply received

  • Last updated: January 18, 2026
